Behind the Lens: Box 55
When you’re dealing with a brand that prides itself on "joy and comfort," a static photo of a burger isn't enough. You need to feel the crunch of the crust and the atmosphere of the shop.
If there’s one thing Dublin’s food scene was missing, it was a proper fusion of classic comfort food and that unmistakable Brazilian spark. Enter Box 55.
I recently teamed up with the talented crew at Iris Creative Studio to capture the soul of this Dublin 05 gem. My mission? To take their "Brazilian Hospitality" and turn it into high-energy visual content that makes you want to reach through your screen and grab a slice.
The Mission: More Than Just Food Photos
When you’re dealing with a brand that prides itself on "joy and comfort," a static photo of a burger isn't enough. You need to feel the crunch of the crust and the atmosphere of the shop.
Working as the Photographer and Videographer on this project, I had a few main goals:
• The "Ooze" Factor: Capture the texture of the pizzas and those legendary sfihas.
• B-Roll Magic: Create fast-paced, snappy video assets specifically for Reels and TikTok.
• The Vibe: Document the D05 location so people know exactly where they’re heading for their next cheat meal.
The Process (The "How-To")
Collaborating with Iris Creative Studio meant the strategy was already airtight. My job was the technical execution:
1. Lighting is Everything: We used lighting that highlighted the "high-quality ingredients" without making it look clinical. We wanted it to look delicious and approachable.
2. Social-First Editing: I edited the clips to be "snappy." In a world of 3-second attention spans, you have to show the best part of the meal immediately.
3. Texture & Detail: We focused heavily on the "fusion" aspect—classic favourites with that Brazilian twist that sets Box 55 apart.

The Result
The outcome was a full library of visual assets that Box 55 is now using to stand out in Dublin’s competitive food scene. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a local business grow because the visuals finally match the quality of the food.
If you’re in Dublin 05 and haven’t tried their Brazilian-style pizzas yet... consider this your sign.
